Welcome to My On-Line Resume!
My name is Todd Howard, and I live in Williamstown, Massachusetts. I recently completed producing a feature film (my first) in Seattle WA, and returned to my native New England at the beginning of October 2002. I left for Seattle from Martha's Vineyard, MA, in August of 1997, to continue pursuing my career as an independent filmmaker, website developer, graphic designer, author, and musician - and came back a film producer, digital editor, DVD author, software trainer, project manager. I also came back a husband.I have recently taken the position of VP of Digital Filmmaking with the Pritchard School of Digital Arts, a new school based in Williamstown, MA, founded by John Pritchard. We take students on trips around the world to explore and film exciting and diverse cultures in such places as Ghana, South Africa, Thialand, Bali, New Zealand, Tahiti and Costa Rica, while teaching them to create digital films using DV cameras, Apple G4 PowerBooks and Final Cut Pro editing software. There is an emphasis on documentary filmmaking style, and the students interview performers, musicians, artists and many other dynamic people and will have the opportunity to film them doing their art against the lush backdrop of the Southern Hemesphere. This is about individuals telling their personal story - something I am incredibly passionate about. Please check out the school.
This on-line resume is a thorough exploration of the things I have accomplished, and the skills that I have been developing over the past seventeen years. Many of the things I have done have involved the talents and dedication of several of my closest friends and colleagues. Jesse P. Howard, Don Gunn, Jesse Moore, Paul Westfall, Erika Stone, Kate Howard and Aaron Murray (to name a few) have played vital roles in many of the projects that you will find listed within this resume. I most recently worked with all of them as producer and editor of a feature film called The Trouble with Boys and Girls, which we will be screening and submitting to film festivals internationally throughout 2003. The film has not yet officially premiered, however it is available for viewing on VHS as part of a limited duplication run of our High-Definition digital transfer completed in September of 2002.
This resume is a curriculum vitae, and I chose this format because I feel that it is important for anyone who is considering working with me to be aware of many of the areas that may spark my interest. I am dedicated to advancing my talents, and honing my skills. I am looking for positions and projects that will utilize the many facets of my creativity.
I am a dreamer and a visionary. I dare to speculate, to grow, to challenge. Most importantly, I strive to flow with change. When I am working on a creative project that holds meaning for me, I am unstoppable. Feel free to contact me anytime by phone (413-458-9119) or cell (206-898-0161), or by email. I would love to talk with you about the possibility of working on a project together.
