Todd,

Here I am at the ungodly hour of 7:30am. This, to me, is the hour only to be realized when up for a film shoot. As I yawn away the night of restless half-sleep I underwent, it all seems a little silly: cameras, actors, lighting, money; all to try like heck to give an unknown future audience a glimpse into something real, something me. Somehow one just seems to feel there is a certain thing which, at a particular moment, is suddenly in need of expression. Is it that someone out there needs it so bad that I can sense it and am driven to put it on film? Or am I just run amuck with notions of an ultimate form of public sharing and shows-and-tell which only a big screen can quench? To make a film, you have to be a little loopy, I suppose. And at 7:30ish AM, it all seems almost silly. Maybe if other kids had listened to my ideas in school, I'd be a nice harmless accountant.

Well, in the interest of actually showing up for the first day of shooting, this typing moment of "OH!" is over. Send your thoughts out to me and remember to see me succeeding... (preferaby in black-and-white with fairly high contrast and grain.) I love you and am missing you and Wiley on this occassion. (Wiley is Cathy Wilcox, or Wiley Cathcox as it were, a woman who has been a part of our crew on two of our video productions)

"I think it's time to begin..."
